Fair winds and calm seas awaited the six Nordic Tugs heading out the Golden Gate on Friday October 27th.

The "fleet" included "Buoy Toy" (Wayne & Linda Farris), "Eternity" (Bud & Pam Sheble & crew Jim Hart), "G-Squared" (Cal & Cathy Robie), "Riley" (Jim & Charmaine Moore), "Sea Dog" (Ed & Kim Krampf) and "Three Jeans" (Scotty & Carol Scott & crew Jim Shates).  For two of the boats it was the first time "out the Gate."

As we cruised south in gentle swells, the bright sunlight provided gorgeous views of the hills and bluffs along the shoreline.  Once safely moored at Pillar Point Harbor, we began doing what tuggers do: warm greetings, tug talk, checking out the fishing fleet, exploring the harbor and footpaths, gathering for drinks and snacks, diining one night at Half Moon Bay Brewery and another at Mezza Luna.

All too soon it was dawn on Sunday the 29th and the tugs exited Half Moon Bay for the trip home. Overcast skies followed us all the way the to the Golden Gate where we radioed our goodbyes and our profound thanks to Bud Sheble, who organized this wonderful cruise.
